Why I must go to SASCON!

The following is a guest post from Gareth Hoyle

SASCON is the UK’s leading Search Marketing conference, meaning anyone who’s anyone in the search engine optimisation (SEO) industry will be there; including me!
Ever-changing industry
As my company supplies SEO link building services to clients from all over the UK, I felt it was imperative that I showed my face at such a large SEO Manchester event. With the SEO industry constantly changing and evolving with new trends, techniques and tools, an event like SASCON couldn’t be more important.
The event will host many of the world’s experts in SEO, analytics and social media marketing — providing an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to learn (if you’re not, you’re in the wrong business!) from your peers about real time search, social media (Facebook, Twitter etc.) and analytics. After all, the search engines don’t tell us how they work!
Many inexperienced search engines optimisers don’t realise the fact that knowing who, when and how users are using your site is just as important as driving traffic to the site in the first place!
Relationship building
Attending such a prestigious event gives me the opportunity to meet potential new customers; a client who owns a SEO company and wants to take advantage of our outstanding SEO link building services!  With online advertising jumping ahead of traditional offline methods in popularity, a greater percentage of advertising budgets are being spent on digital endeavours — and attending an event like this offers me the chance to get a bigger slice of the pie!
I’ve already touched on social media, but I felt it deserved another mention! Having firmly established its place alongside other genuine online marketing strategies, social media is providing a valuable tool for many businesses looking to drive visitors and increase website rankings.
I’m sure it’ll be a cracking event, especially as there will be plenty of social and networking opportunities with the Manchester SEO community and even a drinks and comedy night!
