My First SEO Convention, and it’s Mancunian Born and Bred

The following is a guest post from Alex Moss

Working as an SEO Manager in-house can have its pros and cons. One main con is that sometimes you can feel detached from the rest of the SEO community. This is obviously helped by such things as the monthly #mancseo meetup and am proud to be part of the Manchester SEO community, but this is simply not enough! Conventions are now becoming more relevant to any SEO whether you’re in-house or in an agency, with SAScon being the frontrunner of these conventions.

So, why am I attending?
Personally, I am attending SAScon in order to broaden the scope of knowledge throughout the whole of SEO. Whether it be the best ways to improve conversion rates or a white hat tweaks to HTML code, everything covered within this convention will be relevant to any SEO strategy. This is particularly useful for me as it will help large scale projects for my employers, but also gives me insight as an SEO consultant when working freelance for smaller projects at Pleer SEO and Web Design.

It’s Not Just Good for SEO, it’s Good for Business:
28th April will bring lots of handshakes. Working in-house brings the benefit that I have to outsource certain work. SAScon will be good for the simple fact that if someone is attending then their business is taking SEO seriously. As well as this, I may meet someone who wants SEO consultancy on a freelance basis. So, for me, this is a win-win situation for everyone!

Why should You Attend?
If you’ve read this far, you’re most likely already attending or interested in attending. If you’re interested in attending then you should think about it as SAScon is going to give you a better outlook on search engines, the way they react to your online business and how you can increase sales by improving your web site. Let’s face it, when it comes to social media for example, it’s easy to create a twitter profile or a Facebook page, but mastering how to use them to your advantage is an art that changes from company to company is a challenge that SAScon will help you conquer.
